Centennial anniversary

Iceland became a free and sovereign state when the Danish-Icelandic Act of Union came into effect on December 1, 1918. On the occasion of the centennial, a logo was designed with the intention of capturing the spirit of the 100th anniversary of Iceland’s sovereignty. The pattern of the logo, in the form of the number 100, draws inspiration from ancient carvings while the colors are in Iceland’s national colors and the waves, which form the infinity symbol, represent the strong bonds of our society.
